As the name implies, Black Box Micro is a single portable almost black-colored, box-shaped speaker. It is described as almost black-colored because one of its sides is actually not in color black.

One of its surfaces is in reddish orange color and the rest is in black. Its measurement is at five centimeters in height, six centimeters in width and 6 centimeters in depth.
The measurement serves as the reason why it is called micro. This micro box consists of a 3.5-millimeter plug with 75-centimeters audio cable, a mini connector at one end, a 75-centimeter and a 150-centimeter USB leads and the main unit.
The two USB leads are intended to provide options on how the speaker would be positioned from the audio source. There is also a mini-User Manual set in different languages.
As informed previously, one surfaces of the box is actually in reddish orange color. This is actually the Gel Audio Driver pad that serves the purpose of enhancing the audio quality and improving the volume that comes from the speaker.
Initially, this is device is intended for iPod/MP3 player or notebook users, but it can be flexible enough to be attached to any gadgets that produce audio output.
There are cases though that the cable may not be compatible to the device. In this case, a fitting connecting lead must be provided so that the speaker can be used to the device.
Using Black Box Micro to different gadgets does not yield the same results. There are gadgets that produce satisfactory audio quality output but there are gadgets that do not.
There are instances that for some MP3 players like the Creative Zen V+ MP3 player, the audio quality produced below standard results. The audio quality does not seem to improve even if the volume control was put to the highest level.
Also, the speaker and the MP3 player’s volume level should be synchronized and the LED lights that are on the front side of the speaker are supposed to indicate this however the lights failed to flash.
This absence may indicate that possibly, there are really MP3 players that are not compatible with the micro box.
On the other hand, when the audio system is used with any Hi-Fi system or computer, the speaker tends to react positively. The speaker’s performance showed notable improvement.
The LED lights that failed to appear when used with MP3 players, the LED lights started to show regular flashes in connection to the volume level when used with a Hi-Fi system or computer.
In addition, there is also a difference in the sound quality when the speaker lies flat on the surface or is hung mid-air. Good sound quality is experienced more when the speaker is lying flat on the surface than it is draped mid-air.
This is more evident if tested using one gadget only. It seems that the sound comes from two different equipment because of the two different audio quality they produce.
If the product is intended to be used for other gadgets other than MP3 player, Hi-Fi system or computer, it is best to test the product on the gadget first before even considering buying it.
